Howard University Need-Based Grant and Pell Expiration

Article ID: 24398

Question
I have met or exceeded my maximum duration of Pell Grant eligibility (12 semesters). However, I still have a zero (0) Expected Family Contribution. Will I still be eligible for the Howard University Need-Based Grant?

Answer

No. Unfortunately, students who have met or exceeded their maximum Federal Pell Grant eligibility (12 semesters) are not eligible to receive the Howard University Need-Based Grant. Affected students are strongly encouraged to seek external funding in the form of scholarships and grants and determine if they should borrow any loans from a private source.
