The Office of Student Financial Services will receive an electronic notice from the U.S. Department of Education once you have complete these necessary steps and update your file within two (2) business days.
Remember that funds will not actually disburse to your student account until the first day of classes.
NOTE FOR FIRST TIME BORROWERS: For first time federal student loan borrowers (at Howard University) your fall semester federal loan disbursement will be split into two disbursements. The initial disbursement will be made on the first day of classes and the second disbursement will be made 60 days after the first day of classes. However, the full amount of the pending loan will be considered toward financial validation for the fall semester.
